西非伊波拉疫情死亡人數突破700人

西非伊波拉病毒疫情持續擴大，死亡人數已於7月31日突破700人。

世界衛生組織（WHO）宣布，因伊波拉病毒死亡的人數再增加57人，這些人分布在賴比瑞亞、幾內亞、獅子山及奈及利亞。這使今年來這四國死於伊波拉病毒的人數增加到729人。

在這批死者中，其中一人是獅子山共和國治療伊波拉病毒的權威卡恩（Sheik Humarr Khan）。獅子山共和國政府表示，卡恩逝世是「無法挽回的損失」。

伊波拉病例今年3月首度出現在幾內亞，後來疫情蔓延到賴比瑞亞及獅子山，目前這波疫情的規模已是史上最嚴重的伊波拉疫情。
