駐波士頓台北經濟文化辦事處處長洪慧珠投書「波士頓前鋒報」指出，中華民國有意加入「跨太平洋夥伴協定」，且台灣是美國及亞太地區重要貿易夥伴，不應被TPP排除。

洪慧珠指出，中華民國有意願加入跨太平洋夥伴協定（TPP）。台灣經濟蓬勃，也是高科技產業中心，全球第18大貿易國，個人電腦、筆記型電腦、半導體及行動通訊等產品全球知名。

她說，台灣加入TPP有助美國及麻州的經濟。台灣是美國第12大貿易夥伴，2013年台、美雙邊貿易額達635億美元（約合新台幣1兆9024億元）。

洪慧珠指出，台灣是美國及亞太地區的重要的貿易夥伴，不應被TPP排除。「波士頓前鋒報」（BostonHerald）26日刊出洪慧珠所撰「台灣之貿易角色」投書，說明台灣加入TPP的決心與重要性。

洪慧珠呼應日前波士頓前鋒報刊載索夫克大學（Suffolk University）的專文，呼籲美國推動TPP協議有利麻州經濟及就業，促請國會提早通過「貿易促進授權法案」（TPA），授權歐巴馬政府協商TPP等自由貿易協定。(中央社)
