中華民國空軍除役的F-5E、F-5F戰鬥機，今（19）日（當地時間18日）在俄勒岡州希爾斯（Hillsboro）「經典飛機航空博物館」亮相，在當地僑界成為矚目焦點。
「經典飛機航空博物館」（Classic Aircraft Aviation Museum）與中華民國空軍的飛機交換計畫，歷經數年，經過台美雙方許多人士幕後協助，如今終於得以讓F-5E、F-5F戰鬥機公開亮相。
今天展示儀式吸引當地政界領袖與僑界代表約200多人參加，場面熱鬧隆重，還有高齡九十多歲、曾參加抗戰的曾祖父級僑胞，在家人陪伴下坐著輪椅出席，親眼見證難得的歷史時刻。
今天首度在博物館展示的F-5E單座機，機身保留中華民國國徽及中文「中正」字樣，序號5257，原屬位於嘉義的第四大隊。
F-5F雙座機，同樣保留國徽與「中正」字樣，序號為5357，原屬位於台東的第七大隊。有趣的是，F-5F駕駛艙外還保留著飛行員姓名「許呈光」字樣。兩架戰機機身目前都有嚴重掉漆，未來都需要重新塗裝灰色系的空優迷彩。
